Google has been long involved in improving the web experience for its users. Following its announcement which occurred during September, Google will now demote websites that show full page app-install requests.
Websites who are found guilty will be ranked below and won't be detailed as mobile-friendly.
According to Google's G+ page, Starting today, pages with an app install interstitial that hide a significant amount of content on the transition from the search result page won’t be considered mobile-friendly.
Instead of full page interstitials, we recommend that webmasters use more user-friendly formats such as app install banners. We hope that this will it easier for searchers to see the content of the pages they are looking for.
We at the heart of crayonpaper are very happy for the decision Google took. Its really annoying to see full page app install ads, when you are searching for an answer on websites like SlideShare,LensLart and most notably Flipkart. We hope Google's decision like always will change the web for 'greater Good'.
