With new updates on ios9, Apple added several emoji present in Unicode 8.0 making iOS the only os to contain almost all emoji ever existed.
This marks yet another Unicode update (8.0) iOS users get to enjoy, while Android users are still stuck waiting on the diversity themed Unicode update which gave the user the ability to select skin color on select emoji.
Thanks to Google's new SVP Hiroshi Lockheimer the emoji are on its way to android. Essentially Unicode 9.0 is also released, we may see all the sets hitting android soon.
There is no given date for arrival of emoji. Marshmallow presently supports emoji dating till Unicode 7.0
