Fresh reports from Wall Street Journal suggests that Google has been long planning to merge Chrome OS with android. Over the years, android has evolved as a dominant and most popular operating system. Google rather Alphabet, will not impose the change immediately to bade its existing set of users.
According to The Verge Google plans to do the stitching in a term of two years. A preview version of this merging will appear in next year I/O. The new operating system is expected to be released sometime in 2017. The inter convertible android laptop Google showcased- Pixel C could be the very early look at the future. Reports suggest that Sundae Pichai is the one person to be hailed for the change. Its also quite interesting to note that while Pichai has been leading Chrome OS, Chromebooks were best selling laptops on amazon in 2014. The conversation of what's going to be of existing Chrome OS devices is uncertain. We can hope this that everything that is to come will be for the greater Good, as Google has always done.
